Adoniram Mark 552

On Wednesday, 20th March 2019 the members of Adoniram Mark gathered together at Leyland Masonic Hall for their business meeting. This is always a well-attended meeting and the large Temple at Wellington Park was fairly full.
‘ello ‘ello 'ello. what have we here then!
Following the opening and the salutations to the PGM, RW Bro Keith Allan Beardmore, the Master of the Lodge, James Mylan, PGJD, carefully guided us through the business of the Lodge to the point where we were to receive a paper from WBro. Graham Kyffin, PAGDC entitled ‘Just in time No.9’. In his presentation G.. covered a myriad of comparisons amongst the various degrees of Free Masonry and, the way those various degrees approached the fellowship of their meetings and administration of the Orders.

He went to explore the working of the Mark Advancement  Ceremony and pondered of where various aspect took place and just who was responsible for the rejection of the work in hand, who is responsible for the plans he asked. Many kept their heads down! No guilty pleas here then!

Following the delivery, which the brethren received with acclaim, the Master took us on the further Business. W. Bro. Giles Berkley was elect as Master, Maurice Evans was re-elected as Treasurer and Ernie Gavan, once again as Tyler.
The Treasurer showed his appreciation at his re-election by putting the subs up!

Following a Charity collection and before any other business, W. Bro. Graham Kyffin again stood. He presented RW. Bro. Beardmore with an old Past Masters Jewel from West Lancashire Mark No 65. The Jewel which is hallmarked was gratefully received on behalf on the lodge by the PGM, who suggested it might be used as a Jewel for the IPM of the Lodge. The Jewel was then surrendered to one of the many members of No 65 present.

We were soon on our way downstairs to our last Festive Board at Wellington Park.

During the PGM’s response to the toast to his health, as has become custom, he announced the names of those chosen to be Wardens of the Province from May 2019.
W. Bro. David Clifford Rigby of Prince of Wales Mark No. 466, will be Senior Warden and
W. Bro. Kieron Eamon Mullan of Furness Mark No.36 will be Junior Warden.

From the applause it is clear, that they are popular choices.

In no time Ernie was delivering the Tyler’s Toast and we were on our way home after another wonderful Mark Meeting.
